Hey friends! So I know I usually post on Thursdays, but I had something on my hear today and I wanted to share with yall. It’s about comparison. I feel like in this world, its so easy to compare ourselves to others, when God intended us to be our own person. We shouldn’t compare ourselves to other people because they have different paths than us, completely different lives and God made us that way. He didn’t make us to be other people, He made us to be US. Think of it this way: So in the Olympics, do you think Michael Phelps ever compared himself to a gymnast? He never thought “oh if only I were better at gymnastics.” But instead, he focused on swimming and became the best at that he could be. He never quit his sport to pursue another one because he compared himself to them. Just like that, we should never quit what we are passionate about, or try to change who we are because another person is good at something we don’t have, but instead we should put our focus in who WE are and not who others are. God didn’t make us to run someone else’s race, or to follow another person’s path. We can’t constantly compare ourselves to others when God made us how we are supposed to be and others how they were meant to be. Just like Psalms 139:14 says “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” He made you so perfectly, there is no flaw in how God formed you, so don’t try to change yourself for other people, when God sees you perfectly in His image. I struggle with comparing often, and this is one this Christ has been showing me. You are perfect the way you are.
