Concerts and Stranger Things

These first two weeks at link year have been crazy.  I feel like I just moved in a few days ago, but that I’ve known these students for what seems like forever!  The first week we headed off to SOTO, where the new class could get to know each other together and get plugged in with the staff.  The whole time we were there my mind was filled of thoughts of my class and how awkward it felt a year ago being at camp with no one I knew and how much has changed since then.  I couldn't help but feel excitement to think that this class could possibly feel just like I felt when it all ended.  I know nine moths is a long time, but my year flew by so fast.  I know it is just going to be the same for this coming year.

Being on staff is a whole other ball park, though.  I almost want to say I like it BETTER.  I don’t feel like I can compare being a student and a protege quite yet, but I am loving my position as of now. I feel like I have it off so easy with discipling these girls because they are honestly all so awesome.  And my jobs to do on campus are super awesome as well.  This year is incredible so far, and its only two weeks in.  I can’t wait to see what else this year holds for me and this class!

This weekend, Anna, Davis, Connor and I drove to Columbia, MO for the Colony House concert.  The six hours in the car total was worth it because the concert was probably one of the best ones I have been to.  Colony House is way better live than you could even imagine.  They put on a great show.  I don’t know what my favorite part of Saturday was, though.  From the actual concert, talking and chilling with the band, or the three hour drive late at night and getting back to campus at 4am.  I will say that my LEAST favorite part was listening to the Stranger Things theme song 70 times in a row with Anna.  Helpful time for everyone - don’t make a bet to listen to a song the rest of the drive.  You’ll hate yourself, promise.  BUT all in all, the weekend was pretty legit.

I am super excited for this week of class because Garret Perkins is coming to speak.  He was one of my favorites last year, so I know it is going to be good.  I am excited to see how the link students enjoy him and what they get out of their first actual week with speakers.  It’s just the beginning of so much change and growth for these linkies, and they are kicking it off with such an awesome dude.

I hope everyone has a great week! See you next week(:
