Bolts, nuts, screws - these are all items that you look at and don't think much about. They have no unique quality about them. But tables or chairs, or even houses, are all things that can be unique and styled. They all have their own twist to them, and are all noticed. You don't look at a bolt and think to yourself "wow, I love that" or "dang, I want a screw like that," do you? No, but you do look at houses, furniture, cars, or musical instruments and can stand in amazement.
Just like that, we are the bolts - all people, all ordinary. There is nothing unique to us, and we, alone, cannot do anything. BUT, when we have Jesus on our side, he uses us. He takes us and makes us into beautiful things. He uses us to spread His word, to develop stories of His glory, or uses our hands in our careers. The Lord takes us, something so simple and ordinary, and uses us for extraordinary things. And if we are letting Him build us, use our qualities, to make those things, we will stand out. Each piece is uniquely placed and equally as important, just like the bolt, to make the finished product. You can't make a chair without wood, and you can't use the wood without a carver, and you can't put it all together without the specific pieces.
The Lord uses each of our gifts that He placed in us, to come together. We cannot use our hands without knowing how to. We can't share the gospel without first being taught it. When we come and place ourselves in The Maker's hands, ordinary at best, Christ makes extraordinary things. Let Him create something beautiful and abstract in you.
