Friends that go and try out really dumb ideas with you, and love them, are the kinds of friends you need in your life. Elaine is one of those friends. We have some of the greatest adventures together, and the funniest stories. All summer, I talked to E about turning my car into a camper van and that we were going to go on a road trip when I got it done. I never did it fully, so she took it into her own hands. That being said, this weekend we went car camping. We had a mattress, some storage and a whole lot of gold fish as we drove to Branson, Missouri for our "grand idea!" Our trip was successful for the most part, except for some hiccups we came across, such as poor planning on where we parked for the night. We were awkwardly woken up by some runners doing a 5K that we were parked in the middle of (oops). But other than that, the trip was incredible! We got to fall asleep under the stars and wake up in time to watch the sun rise. Although we didn't get lots of rest physically, it was super restful emotionally and spiritually and what we both needed. I could talk ALL about the trip, but instead, here are some pictures showing you how amazing it was!
Also, if you know anything about me, you probably know how much I love the Branson Ferris Wheel. I have this weird tie to it, if that makes any sense(??). Last year, when I lived in Branson, I would go on drives, and I always found myself sitting in the parking lot watching the lights on the ferris wheel. It eventually just became my place. So without even hesitating, Elaine and I went and watched the lights, and I had to try and take some photos.
This weekend was really special to me, and I think I will always hold a special place in my heart for weird ole Branson!
